Obituary for Delmon L. Baucom

MIFFLIN, Delmon L. Baucom, 90, of Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin and formerly of Perryville, PA died at 6:15 p.m., on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the village.
Born on April 30, 1922 in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe County, North Carolina he was a son of the late Henry L. and Nancy E. (McGowan) Baucom. He shared nearly 64 years of marriage with his wife, Lorraine (Montgomery) Baucom, whom he married on August 22, 1946, before she preceded him in death on August 21, 2010.
Surviving are his children; James R. Baucom and his wife Jeanette, Daniel L. Baucom, N. Michele Courson and her husband Chuck, all of Perryville, Margie E. Wagner and her husband Michael, of Mifflintown, a sister in law Jenette Baucom, of Burgaw, N.C. and he leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Dorman Baucom, Dan Baucom, and one sister Hazel Hazelwood preceded him in death making him the last of his generation.
Mr. Baucom served his country during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater with the U. S. Army Air Force.
In 1947 he started as a Lineman with Rural Electric Assoc. and in 1984 he retired as a Warehouse manager from Central Electric with 37 years of service.
Delmon was currently a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mifflintown and while living in Perryville he was a member of Rimersburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7595 Rt. 68, Rimersburg, PA
16248, with Charles Scott officiating.
A second memorial service will be held locally at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 25 South Ridge Road, Mifflintown, with Jay Whistler, III officiating. There will be no viewing.
