MIFFLINTOWN, Maxine E. Burchfield, 87, of Mifflintown (Mexico) died at 12:12 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Columbia Montour Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville.
Born on January 19, 1927 in Walker Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse P. and Edith M. (McBurney) Fry.
Surviving are her children, Ronald F. Burchfield, of Dillsburg, Roger A. Burchfield and his wife Florence, of Mifflintown, Beth A. Burchfield, of New Berlin, and she leaves behind 4 grandchildren also 5 great-grandchildren.
One son, Jesse Scott Burchfield, preceded her in death on November 11, 1981 and an infant son in infancy.
Mrs. Burchfield was a 1945 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and a member of the Mexico United Presbyterian Church.
In 1987 she retired as a seamstress from Lyons Fashions, Mifflintown.
Maxine was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan, who loved her dogs and playing cards; however her family was her utmost priority.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 from the Mexico United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Crystal M. Lyde and Richard Burchfield officiating. Interment will be in the Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown.
The Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown has been entrusted with the arrangements.
