Obituary for Nedra Jane Bair

Nedra Jane Bair
PORT ROYAL – Nedra Jane “Janie” Bair of Port Royal died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at her home.
Born February 8, 1947, in Port Royal, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Darline I. (Davis) Tittle.
On August 26, 1966, she married Clair L. Bair Jr., who survives. Also surviving are: children, Melissa J. Bair and husband, James J. Krinjeck, and Robert S. Bair and wife, Kelly, all of Port Royal; a sister, Ruth Laentenia “Teenie” Eaton of Loysville, grandson Trace Robert Gulick and granddaughter Kiersten Baumgardner, both of Port Royal, step-grandson, James D. Krinjeck of Mifflintown, nieces Heidi Reisinger and Julie Thebes of Perry County, her aunt Elsie Kenno of Dauphin, and “adopted” daughter Deb (Fulkroad) Dressler of Port Royal.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Robert, and her grandparents.
She graduated from Juniata High School and, early in life, worked as an aide at Lewistown Hospital. After getting married, she stayed at home and devoted her life to her children and husband. Later on she cleaned homes for various people, most of whom quickly became life-long friends. She retired from Ernest Hill Kennel as a grooming assistant, a job she loved, to become the best Grammy ever to her grandson, Trace, who was the light of her life.
She was a former: Cub Scout den leader, leader of the Juniata County 4-H Horse and Pony Club and lay leader at the Port Royal United Methodist Church.
She loved animals, plants, flowers and coffee. She was one of the world’s last great letter writers, using old-fashioned fountain pens to write cards and letters to her family, friends, former 4-H kids and pen pals all over the United States.
As per her strict, long-time instructions, there will be no viewing, but a visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 with a memorial service, officiated by Rev. Charles Hershberger, immediately following at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to: Rescue Our Furry Friends, 133 N. Walnut St., Burnham, PA 17009.
