MIFFLIN, Marlin J. “Bill” Arentz, 70, of McKinley Road, Mifflin, died at 10:25 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his home.
Born on November 10, 1943, in Spruce Hill Twp., Juniata County, he was the son of the late Marlin C. and Effie (Hockenberry) Arentz. His wife of 46 years, Nellie R. (Leach) Arentz whom he married on February 1, 1964 preceded him in death on February 7, 2010.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet L. Swab and her husband Richard, of Mifflintown, Carol A. Arentz, of Mifflin, two sisters, Geraldine Dalton and her husband Furman, of Honey Grove, Naomi Clouser and her husband David, of Cross Keyes, several step-brothers and step- sisters and he leaves behind six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
One sister, Evelyn Hutchinson, one brother, Harold C. “Fred” Arentz, two great- granddaughters, Chloe and Angel Crozier Swab preceded him in death.
Mr. Arentz retired from the McClure Company, Harrisburg and was a life member of Heritage Days, East Waterford where he was in charge of parking the campers and was always willing to do whatever needed to be done to ensure the success of the event.
With Bill's love of the outdoors, he loved gardening, hunting, taking his grandchildren fishing, collecting and restoring Ford tractors.
Funeral services will be private and burial will be in the McCoysville Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown, on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, from 4 - 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 - 8 p.m.
