McALISTERVILLE, Hazel K. Rickenbaugh, 99, of McAlisterville, died at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg.
Born on May 11, 1915, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth (Clark) Britcher. Her husband, Stanley Rickenbaugh, whom she married on May 4, 1935, preceded her in death on September 27, 1993.
Surviving are her son, Jack Rickenbaugh and his wife Pat, of Harrisburg; sister Jane Cleck, of Mifflintown, grandchildren, Michelle Chubb and her husband Rod, of McAlisterville, Joelle Walters and her husband John, of Lewistown, great grandchildren, Jared Reichenbach and his wife, Jodi, of Middleburg, Taylor Chubb and fiancé Jonathan Hodges, of Harrisburg, great-great grandchildren, Jax Reichenbach.
Preceding her in death are five brothers, James Britcher, Earl Britcher, Clark Britcher, Jay Britcher, Thomas Britcher, and seven sisters, Anna Fry, Kathaleen Worral, Nora Williams, Pauline Britcher and Helen Britcher, Alma Wynning and Stella Arnold.
Hazel was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville.
Mrs. Rickenbaugh was employed by Lyons Fashions, McAlisterville until retiring in 1980. Hazel’s family was very dear to her heart and she loved to walk.
The funeral service, officiated by Pastor John Walters, will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville
A viewing will be held from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
