MIFFLINTOWN, Miriam E. Burnworth, 95, formerly of McAlisterville, died at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on September 10, 1918, in New Berlin, PA she was a daughter of the late Harry O. and Bertha M. (Sauer) Mader. Her husband, Charles Burnworth, whom she married in 1980, preceded her in death in 1998.
Surviving are her step-daughters, Patricia Coldwell, of Duncansville and Joyce Omlor, of New Stanton; one sister, Beatrice Hosler, of McAlisterville; one niece, Audrey Fuller, of Troy and one nephew, David Fuller, of McClure.
One brother, Rollin Mader, and two step-sons, Larry Burnworth, Richard Burnworth preceded her in death.
Miriam was a 1935 graduate of Milton High School, after which she did ministry work in Georgia, Mississippi, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and New York, for 30 years. She also served as a nurses aid and later, after marrying, was a homemaker.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Delmar Stockwell and Steve Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the Muncy Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
