McALISTERVILLE, Donald L. “Jake†Strawser, 79, of McAlisterville, entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 14, 2014, at his home.
He was born on March 4, 1936 in Monroe Twp., Juniata County. On December 10, 1954, he married Norma J. “Jane†(Spriggle) Strawser, of McAlisterville, with whom he spent nearly 60 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Linda Hendricks and her husband Dale, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Robert D. Strawser and his wife Jodi, of McAlisterville, Lisa Martin and her husband Kevin, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Carrie West and her husband Troy, of San Antonio, TX, Kelly Curtis and her husband Anthony, of Toledo, OH; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Mr. Strawser was a 1953 graduate of Fayette High School, McAlisterville and a member of the Local 520 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Harrisburg. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 925, Millerstown.
Jake enjoyed trapping, in his younger days, riding his scooter and was an accomplished metal detector in Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
