Obituary for Robert N. "Bob" Reynolds

MIFFLINTOWN, Robert N. “Bob” Reynolds, 69, of Mifflintown died at 9:01 a.m., on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on March 1, 1945 in Washington, D.C. he was a son of the late Kenneth L. and Jewell (Waggaoner) Reynolds. On March 31, 2001, he married his surviving wife, Roxie J. (Steffen) Reynolds, with whom he shared more than 13 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kierstin Reynolds and her husband Adian James, of Enola, Joshua Reynolds and his wife Stephanie, of Mechanicsburg, a step-son, Kenneth Graham, of Philadelphia, a brother William Reynolds and his wife Faye of Lancaster, a sister, Judith Tilson of Christiana, and he leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Caydon, Grayson, Alex and Brooke.
One brother Johnny B. Reynolds preceded him in death on October 20, 1962.
Mr. Reynolds was a member and treasurer of the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post 5863, American Legion Post 298 both of Mifflintown, Mifflintown Lions Club, Middle Ridge Gun Club, Union Lodge No. 324, F&AM, Mifflintown, Tall Cedars, Juniata Valley Forest 88 and Duck’s Unlimited.
Robert proudly served his country with U.S. Army during the Vietnam war.
He was a 1963 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown, a 1965 graduate of Shippensburg State Teacher College, and earned his Master’s Degree from West Chester University.
After 35 years of service he retired as the Bureau Director from the Pa. Dept. of Welfare, Harrisburg and currently was serving his first term as Commissioner of Juniata County.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, reading, and spending time with his family and friends, however, the joy of his life were his 2 sets of twin grandsons.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Tom Lamborn officiating and where the Juniata County Veteran Council will accord full military burial honors.There will be no viewing however family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
