THOMPSONTOWN, Arlene M. “Martin” Rowe, 86, of Thompsontown, died on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at the Harrisburg Hospital.
Born March 5, 1928 in Millerstown, Perry County, she is the daughter of the late Jay and Fannie Olive (Shotsberger) Taylor. On June 10, 1947, she married S. Wayne Rowe, with whom she spent nearly 62 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on April 12, 2008.
Surviving are her children: Douglas M. Rowe and his wife Nina, of Doylestown, Waynett Dunn, of Thompsontown and her grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn and Jeremy Dunn, both of Thompsontown.
She was a 1946 graduate of Greenwood High School, Millerstown and a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown.
Arlene was a homemaker, who enjoyed making silk flower arrangements, and embroidery. She also enjoyed reading and word searches but she always cherished the time that she spent with her family.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on, Sunday, September 21, 2014 from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown with Rev. Michael Sigler officiating. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service, Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Church.
