Obituary for Hazel A. Graybill

Hazel A. Graybill
McALISTERVILLE, Hazel A. Graybill, 85, of McAlisterville, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:45 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014, at her home.
Born on October 11, 1928, in Fayette Twp., Juniata County, she is the daughter of the late George E. and Della N. (Kauffman) Apple. Her husband of over 51 years, Lloyd S. Graybill, whom she married on December 8, 1954, preceded her in death on March 6, 2006.
Surviving are: 2 sons, Keith A. Graybill and his wife Janet, of McAlisterville, Karl E. Graybill and his wife Sheri, of Mifflintown, 2 sisters, Orpha Brubaker, of Richfield, Dorcas Fenner, of McAlisterville, 2 sisters-in-law, Flo Apple, of Mifflintown and Arlene Brubaker, of the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown and she leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Nathan Graybill, Matthew Graybill, Tyler Graybill, Karissa Graybill and Erich Graybill, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Paul E. Apple, Glenn F. Apple, Melvin C. Apple and a sister, Kathryn E. Lauver, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Graybill was a member of the Living Water Christian Fellowship, Mifflin, was involved, along with her husband, Lloyd, with the Silver Threads Ministry for elderly people, volunteered at Abundant Blessings and was a dedicated prayer warrior for the weekly community prayer meeting for more than 8 years.
She was a homemaker, who in earlier life worked at the cannery in McAlisterville.
Hazel was an avid gardener and enjoyed her own visiting ministry, visiting the elderly and shut-ins. However, most of all she delighted in the time she spent with family and friends, especially the day trips with Lloyd and her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, September 25, 2014 from Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Oakland Mills, with the Rev. Gary Krabill officiating. Interment will follow in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Oakland Mills.
Viewing will be held from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at the church and from 9:30 a.m. Thursday, until the time of service at the church.
For those who wish memorial contributions in Mrs. Graybill’s memory may be made to Juniata County Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 251, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
