Obituary for Charles E. Cleck

MIFFLINTOWN, Charles E. Cleck, 91, of Mifflintown, passed away peacefully at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born January 22, 1923, in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata County, he was a son of the late Edward C. and Minnie M. (Clark) Cleck. On May 19, 1952 he married his surviving wife, Janet (Deneen) Cleck with whom he shared more than 62 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters, Gayle A. Landis and husband Rick, Jeanne Cleck-Reese and husband Tom, all of Mifflintown and Wendy Cleck-Trego and husband Rusty of Middleburg; 3 sons, Gary Cleck and wife Gwen, Michael Cleck and wife Penny, and Edward Cleck and wife Pam all of Mifflintown; one brother Wade Cleck , one sister Rhoda Allison and husband Clair, all of Mifflintown; three sisters Dorothy Reagan, of Lancaster, Jean Miller, of Boyertown, and Bonnie Suloff, of Lewistown.
He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Ronnie and Warren, and a sister Letitia “Tish” Geedy who preceded him in death.
Charles was a member of the Arch Rock United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.
Early in life he owned Red’s Meat Market in East Waterford, and worked for Dysinger‘s Butcher Shop, Locust Run, E. C. Cleck and Son, Mifflintown and Valley Proteins, Mifflintown. Charles was a life-long farmer.
Mr. Cleck was a veteran of the U.S. Army, during WWII.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, September 29, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the funeral home.
