Obituary for Lucille (Meals) Fry

HARRISBURG, Lucille Meals Fry, 82, of Millersburg went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Harrisburg Hospital surrounded by her family.
Born on March 23, 1932, in Newville, Cumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Helen (Kuhn) Meals.
She is survived by her daughters; Julia A. Dressler and her husband Bruce, of Mifflintown, Cassandra M. Sweitzer, of Thompsontown, Marilyn L. Lauver and her husband Jake, of Millerstown; sons James V. Fry, of Millersburg, Curt R. Fry, of Thompsontown, sisters, Nancy Zeigler, of Newville and Verna George, of Carlisle. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Steve Schlegel, Andy Schlegel, Mike Fry, Jeremy Fry, Jared Fry, Lauren Sweitzer, Grant Lauver, Olivia Lauver, Bryana Lauver and 11 great grandchildren.
A granddaughter, Angel Rose Lauver, a loving daughter-in-law Brenda J. Fry, Max L. Fry, 2 brothers, Herb Meals, Richard Meals, two infant brothers and 4 sisters, Marion Murtorff, Leah Fogelsanger, Melvina Lindsey and Winifred Walters, preceded her in death.
She had attended the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, Mifflintown and had been attending the Lykens Valley House of Prayer.
For more than 25 years she was employed as a daycare provider for the Juniata County Daycare.
Lucille enjoyed decorating, traveling, reading her Bible and spending time with friends; but, she received the most joy when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. In her final years, her grandson Jeremy Fry and Leslie Flaherty were her kind and loving primary caregivers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014from the New Harvest Community Church, 527 Maple St., Millerstown with Rev. Warren Peachey officiating. Interment will follow in the Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014 and from 10 – 11 on Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Church.
