Obituary for Herman P. Stuck

McALISTERVILLE, Herman P. Stuck, 83, of McAlisterville, went peacefully home to his Lord at 11:28 a.m., on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at his home.
Born on October 30, 1930, in Monroe Township, Juniata County he was the son of the late William C. and Alma E. (Clark) Stuck. His first wife Ruth M. (Strawser) Stuck preceded him in death on September 22, 1999 and on February 16, 2002 he married his surviving wife, E. Jane (Gingrich) Swartz-Stuck, with whom he shared more than 12 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-children, Linda Blough and her husband Harold, of Harrisburg, Darlene Varner and her husband Dan, Carol Neidig and her husband Ed, all of McAlisterville, Nancy Diem and her husband Charles, of East Salem, sisters, Mary Alice Kerstetter, of McAlisterville, Joanne Kint and her husband Sam, of Mifflintown, as well as several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Stuck was a member of Niemonds Independent Church, Richfield and had also served on the Monroe Township Election Board.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In earlier life he had farmed his father’s farm and later worked as a salesman for several farm implement dealers.
Herman enjoyed listening to Christian music and watching religious programs on television. He also enjoyed working at the Pennsylvania Farm Show: however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. As Herman would say, “I’m to soon old and to late smart”.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2014, from the Niemonds Independent Church, Richfield with Rev. J. Arthur Mott and Rev. Steven Osenga officiating. Interment will follow in the Niemonds Cemetery, Richfield, where full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
Viewing will be on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
For those that wish, memorial donations in Mr. Stuck’s memory may be made to the Niemonds Independent Church, P.O. Box 187, Richfield, PA 17086.
