MIFFLINTOWN – Fern K. Frymoyer, 87, of Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown and formerly of Thompsontown passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014, at the home.
Born on July 19, 1927, in Delaware Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Page) Keller. On January 10, 1952 she married her late husband William H. “Bill” Frymoyer with whom she shared more than 56 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on October 3, 2008.
She is survived by five sons: Herb Frymoyer and his wife, Norann, of Thompsontown, James Frymoyer and his wife Annette, of McAlisterville, Duane Frymoyer and his wife, Julie, of Newport, Fred Frymoyer and his companion Maggie Williams, of Thompsontown, Daryl Frymoyer and his wife, Betsy, of McAlisterville and she leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Shana Meiser, Jared Frymoyer, Samuel Frymoyer, Emily Frymoyer, Megan Maurer, Nathan Frymoyer, Kyle Frymoyer, Janelle Frymoyer, Michael Frymoyer, Corey Frymoyer and Matthew Frymoyer, also a great-grandson, Colton Frymoyer.
She is the last of her generation having been preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Wochley.
Mrs. Frymoyer was a member of Niemond's Independent Church, Richfield and was employed grading eggs at Maple Lawn, McAlisterville until her retirement in 1999 and she took care of the office work for her husband’s excavating business.
Fern enjoyed traveling with her late husband Bill, tending to her flower gardens, shopping but her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, from the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Brittin F. Stimeling and Pastor Warren Peachey officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
