MIFFLINTOWN, Nancy T. Porr, 73, of Mifflintown, died at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born November 29, 1940 in Steelton, Dauphin County, she was the daughter of Jeremiah W. and Viola (Keim) Trace. On December 27, 1958 she married her surviving husband, Gerald H. Porr, Sr., with whom she shared nearly 56 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Gerald H. Porr, Jr. and his companion Jamie, of York, Paul A. Porr and his wife Brenda, of Mifflintown, Bonnie Balmer and her husband Dale, of Lebanon, Brian K. Porr and his companion Katrina, of Camp Hill, Dean E. Porr and his wife Kim, of Steelton, Thomas S. Porr and his wife Bobbie, of Harrisburg, Michael D. Porr and his wife Kristen, of Kratzerville; brothers, William Trace, of California, Donald Trace, Richard Trace and David Trace, all of Enhaut, 24 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Over the years Nancy and her husband Gerald have been foster parents to 20 children.
She was a 1958 graduate of Steelton High School and a member of the Thompsontown Baptist church, where she served as the pianist.
Nancy was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint and music. She also enjoyed witnessing to people about her Lord and Savior. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, gave her great joy.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at the Thompsontown Baptist Church with Pastor Keith G. Koch officiating.
