OBITUARY NOTICE
DAYTON T. McDONALD, SR.
RICHFIELD, Dayton T. McDonald, Sr., 86, of Richfield, died at 11:25 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Richfield Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center, Richfield.
Born on June 24, 1928 in Greenwood Twp., Juniata County, he was a son of the late William J. B. and Martha (Dressler) McDonald. On June 5, 1954, he married Helen (Hoffman) McDonald, with whom he shared nearly 48 years of marriage, before she preceded him in death in 2002.
He is survived by his children, Dayton T. McDonald, Jr., Cindy K. Heisey, both of Richfield, Andy L. McDonald, of McAlisterville; brothers, Max McDonald, of Enola, William McDonald, of Carlisle; sister Josephine Strawser, of Newport, grandchildren, Carrie Lance, Kelley A. McDonald, Jeremy Heisey, Brian Heisey, Amanda Gault, Hannah Heisey and Kattie Heisey; great grandchildren, Gregory Lance, Nicholas Lance and Symantha Woodward.
One son, Stanley McDonald, one grandson, Geoffrey McDonald, one great grandson, John T. Lance, Jr., one brother, Samuel McDonald and one sister, Arlene Kevill, preceded him in death.
Dayton attended Stony Run Mission and until his retirement in 1995 was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., Mifflintown.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Jodi L. Strawser officiating. Interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery, Richfield.
Viewing will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service, on Monday at the funeral home.
