Jacqueline  E. "Jackie"  Swift-Leach
MiFFLINTOWN, Jacqueline E. “Jackie” Swift-Leach, 83, of Mifflintown, ended her earthly journey at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on December 29, 1930, in Lewistown, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late William, Sr. and Hattie (Gloss) Yocum. Her first husband, George Swift preceded her in death in 1970 and her second husband Paul Leach preceded her in death in 2008.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol Spigelmyer and her husband Rick, of Mifflintown, a sister, Barbara Arentz and her husband Charles, of Lewistown, 2 grandchildren, Heather Walton and her husband Joe, Caleb Spigelmyer, all of Mifflintown, as well as 2 great grandchildren, Blaze Walton, Talon Walton also 3 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-great grandchildren.
Two brothers, William Yocum, Jr., Donald Yocum, Sr. and three sisters, Faith Kirkman, Romaine Ranck and Hope Yocum in infancy preceded her in death.
She was a 1949 graduate of Lewistown High School, a member of the Gospel Chapel, Lewistown and currently was attending the Arch Rock United Methodist Church.
In earlier life she was employed by the Royal Dairy and later she worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory both of Lewistown.
Jackie loved country music, camping, jigsaw puzzles and attending the Paul Leach Trout Derby when her health permitted. Being a people person she enjoyed socializing with everyone, however; she especially loved her family and will always be remembered as our “Ralphie”.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with Pastor Gerald Miller officiating.
There will be no viewing, however; her family will be present to receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of service, Thursday at the funeral home.
