MIFFLINTOWN, Jackson Carl Lowrey, 74, of Mifflintown died at 11:23 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born on December 25, 1939, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Edward E., Sr. and Florence K. (Krebbs) Lowrey. On October 31, 1960 he married his surviving wife, Margaret S. (Wagner) Lowrey, with whom he spent more than 54 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Joanne M. White, of Harrisburg, Douglas J. Lowrey, Tammy S. Ehrenzeller and her husband Rick, all of Mifflintown, five siblings, Charles S. Lowrey, of Mifflintown, Nancy J. Swartz, of McAlisterville, Laurabelle D. Lowrey, of Mifflintown, Richard L. “Boots” Lowrey, of Fort Myers, Fla., Jenny L. Lowrey, of Mifflintown and he leaves behind four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Two brothers, Edward E. “Peanuts” Lowrey, Jr., Robert E. “Bob” Lowrey, two sisters, Mada Graham, Marilyn V. Guyer and one half-sister, Helen P. Ranck, preceded him in death.
In earlier life he attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.
Mr. Lowrey retired after more than 30 years of service from Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc. Mifflintown and his passion was hunting.
Private services will be held with Pastor Stephanie Rupert officiating.
