Anna Ruth Peterson, 85, of Mifflintown passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at her home.
Born on October 15, 1929, in Ickesburg, Perry County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence W. and Catherine (Stewart) Rice. On July 2, 1949, she married her surviving husband Ray A. Peterson, with whom she shared more than 65 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Donna Jean Lee and her husband James, of Dillsburg, Dennis E. Peterson and Kim A. Pellman and her husband Randy, all of Mifflintown, siblings, Calvin Rice and his wife Gladys, of Harrisburg, Winifred Flickinger, of Blain, Bonnie Benner and her husband Robert, of Duncannon, Fred Rice and his wife Lucille, of Ickesburg, sister – in – laws, Marjorie Rice, Vicki Rice, both of Loysville, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Four brothers and 2 sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Peterson was a 1947 graduate of Ickesburg High School and a member of the Ickesburg Lutheran Church.
Anna Ruth was a homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, from the Richfield Mennonite Church with Pastor Aaron Benner officiating. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be no viewing.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial contributions in Mrs. Peterson’s memory may be made to Richfield Mennonite Church, c/o Kevin Seibel Family, 167 Church St., Richfield, PA 17086.
