Harold C. Shirk, 81, of Marietta died at 1:43 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Longwood Manor, Marietta.
Born on February 21, 1934 in Richfield, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Merrill, Sr. and Eva (Stimely) Shirk. On June 9, 1957, he married his wife of 55 years, Joanna (Kline) Shirk, who preceded him in death on June 18, 2012.
He is survived by his sons, Gregory K. Shirk and his wife Jennifer, of Dover, Phillip H. Shirk and his wife Michelle, of Marietta, a brother, Merrill W. Shirk, Jr and his wife Carrie Mae, of Mifflintown and one granddaughter, Mackenzie Shirk.
Mr. Shirk was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Joy, Union Lodge #324, F&AM, of Mifflintown, the A.A.S.R. Harrisburg Consistory and the Zembo Shrine, of Harrisburg.
Until retiring in 1993, he served as an insurance salesman for Allstate Insurance for 35 years.
Harold enjoyed golf and was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Baseball fan; but, his greatest joy came from spending time with the light of his life and only granddaughter, Mackenzie.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from the Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Joy with Rev. Michael Martine and Rev. James Stough officiating. Interment will follow in the Hershey Cemetery, where Masonic Services will be accorded by the Brown Stone Lodge.
