Obituary for Richard K. "Dick" Watts

Richard K. “Dick” Watts, 68, of McAlisterville, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Richfield Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on March 14, 1947, in Derry Twp., Mifflin County, he was a son of the late William R. “Bill” and Flo A. (Prye) Watts, Sr. On April 28, 1967, he married his surviving wife, Marlene E. (Brubaker) Watts, with whom he shared nearly 48 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Richard L. Watts and his companion Jody McCracken, of Harrisburg; brother, William R. Watts, Jr. and his wife Judy, of McAlisterville; one grandson Alec Watts.
Mr. Watts was a 1965 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus, the Vale Technical School, Blairsville and member of the Lost Creek Mennonite Church, Oakland Mills.
In earlier life, Richard was employed by Kline Motors, of Beaver Springs as an auto body technician and later worked as a car salesman for several local dealerships. He retired from Watkins Painting, Mifflintown and during his retirement he was employed by Weis Markets, Mifflintown.
Dick loved to do yard-work and tend his garden and flower beds. He also enjoyed hunting and was an avid Mark Martin fan.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church, McAlisterville with Pastor Michael Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville.
Viewing will be from 1p.m. until the time of service, on Wednesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his son, Rich Watts, 1141 Amber Lane, Harrisburg, PA 17111, to help defray the funeral expenses.
