Cody L. “Pookie” Irvin, 23, of McAlisterville, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his home.
Born on November 26, 1991, in Lancaster, Lancaster County he is the son of his mother Bonnie Shoemaker and her companion Todd Bragunier, of McAlisterville and his father, Henry Irvin and his wife Tami Irvin, of Elizabethtown.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Cortney Shellenberger and her husband Cody, of McAlisterville; maternal grandparents, Barbara and Walt Carter, of Bainbridge; paternal grandparents, Donald and Alexis Irvin, of Huntingdon; a niece and nephew, Carrisa and Cole Shellenberger.
He was preceded in death by a step father, Michael Shoemaker.
Cody was currently employed by both K.W. Reese, Inc. of Mercersburg and Reub’s Refuse of McAlisterville.
Pookie was an outdoorsman, who loved to hunt, fish and kayak. He also loved to spend time with his family, especially his niece and nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Pastor Wesley Stahl officiating.
There will be no viewing; however, family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of the service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
