Laban Paul Kauffman, 77, of Richfield went to be with his Lord and Savior at 6:47 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015, at his home.
Born on June 28, 1938, in Richfield, Juniata County, he was a son of the late S. David and C. Ruth (Graybill) Kauffman. On May 16, 1959, he married his surviving wife, Thelma E. (Kauffman) Kauffman, with whom he shared more than 56 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Rachel Kreider and her husband Arnold, of Metter, GA, David Kauffman and his wife Orpha, of Millerstown, Dorothy Kreider and her husband Nelson, of Thompsontown, Gloria Bauman and her husband; David, of Millerstown, Alvin Kauffman and his wife Karen, of Paraguay, South America, Timothy Kauffman and his wife Karen, of Monroeton, Esther Kauffman, of Richfield, a ; sister, Rhoda Grove, of Hanover, 46 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Naomi Weaver, Anna Mae Kauffman, 4 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Mr. Kauffman was a member of the Goodwill Mennonite Church, Thompsontown and a member of the Goodwill Mennonite Ministry since his ordination 1n 1969.
Laban was a farmer, who farmed nearly all his life.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, from the Millerstown Mennonite Church, 731 Raccoon Valley Road, Millerstown, PA with the Goodwill Mennonite Ministry officiating. Interment will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery, Thompsontown.
Viewing will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. and 5 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at the Millerstown Mennonite Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
