Obituary for Alice L. Fealtman

Alice L. Fealtman, 89, of the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown and formerly of Thompsontown, died at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Brookline.
Born on July 25, 1926, in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Amos I. and Pearl (Strawser) Landis. On July 10, 1948 she married her surviving husband George R. Fealtman with whom she was blessed to share more than 67 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sisters, Esther Hart, of McAlisterville, Barbara Shelley and her husband Robert, of East Salem, Miriam Beasom and her husband Gerald, of Mexico and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Bruce Landis and a sister Elsie Smith-Leister.
She was a 1944 graduate of Thompsontown High School and a 1948 graduate of the Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, where she served as pianist, a member of the Eastern Star, Mifflin Chapter No. 260, Mifflintown and during WWII she served as a member of the Cadet Corps. of Nurses.
Mrs. Fealtman was a Registered Nurse who had been employed by Dr. George Gleason and the Polyclinic Hospital both of Harrisburg.
Alice loved crocheting, playing the piano, traveling and tending to her colorful flower beds.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville. Interment will follow in the East Salem Cemetery. An Eastern Star service will be accorded by her chapter prior to the funeral.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service, on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Fealtman’s memory to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 7398 Rte. 235, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
