OBITUARY NOTICE
JESSE H. BOWMAN, JR.
Jesse H. Bowman, Jr., 83, of McAlisterville and formerly of Harrisburg, passed away at 8:57 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his home.
Born on August 6, 1932 in Walton, WV he was a son of the late Jesse H., Sr. and Olive P. (Taylor) Bowman. His wife, Fayetta M. (Cassel) Bowman, of the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle, survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jessica L. Stevens and her husband James, of Savona, NY and three other daughters, step-daughter, Cathy Louer, step-son, Robert Hoch, both of Harrisburg. Also surviving are his sister, Dolores Bennett and her husband Barry, of Duncannon and many nieces and nephews.
Two sisters and their husbands, Frances Baker and her husband Harry, Dorothy Deiter and her husband Lewis, preceded him in death.
His memberships included the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, McAlisterville, past commander of the J.E. Bowen, Jr. AmVets Post No. 122, the Tennis Lodge 371, F&AM, both of Thompsontown, American Legion Post No. 298, Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post No. 5863, both of Mifflintown, American Legion Post No. 340, Duncannon.
In 1951 he graduated from Duncannon High School and in 1990 he retired from Bell Telephone and AT&T as a telephone technician. He also proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Jesse enjoyed hunting, fishing, and especially fishing in Florida.
All services will be private.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial donations in Mr. Bowman’s memory may be made to the Juniper Community Missions, P.O. Box 249, Thompsontown, PA 17094.
