Adele L. McDermott, 93, of Port Royal died at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Golden Living - William Penn, Lewistown.
Born on July 8, 19230, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA she was a daughter of the late Ignatius and Martha (Adams) Miller. Her husband John McDermott preceded her in death in 1970.
Surviving are: a sister, Thelma Ullrich, of Philadelphia and 7 loving nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Harry Miller, Louis Miller, and two sisters, Martha McNamara, Marie Kelly, preceded her in death.
Mrs. McDermott was a 1941 graduate of Hallahan Catholic High School, Philadelphia and member of the St. Jude’s Catholic Church.
Adele, a kind and gentle soul, was a homemaker for most of her life. She was also an avid reader and shopper, who enjoyed her knick-knacks.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from the St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Mifflintown with Rev. William Weary officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 until the time of service at the church.
