William H. “Bill” Fronk, 79, of McAlisterville, died at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on September 21, 1936, in Monroe Twp., Juniata County, he was a son of the late Herman D. and Martha L. (Hood) Fronk. On October 27, 1956, he married his surviving wife, Minerva E. (Hokenbrough) Fronk, with whom he was blessed to share nearly 60 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Susan Howard and her husband Gerald, of Mifflintown, Sally Bailor, of Port Royal, Gary Fronk and his wife Cris, of Thompsontown, Sandy Dimm and her husband Daryl, of Mifflintown; siblings, Lawrence Fronk, of McAlisterville, Reba Frymoyer, of Thompsontown; 10 grandchildren, Jason Shellenberger and his wife Heather, Billie Jo Keller and her husband Ryan, Allison Husler and her husband Derek, Janelle LaFore and her husband Eric, Travis Howard and his wife Lindsey, Garrett Fronk and his wife Kristi, Shellie Kratzer and her husband Kenny, Elissa Fronk, Kyle Fronk, Austin Fronk; and 8 great grandchildren, Ainsley LaFore, Brayden Howard, Delaney LaFore, Jana Keller, Noah Howard, Nora Keller, Ben Shellenberger and Leo Shellenberger.
Four siblings, Roy Fronk, Delmar Fronk, Dale Edward Fronk and Gloria Shellenberger, preceded him in death.
Mr. Fronk was a member of the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, McAlisterville, where he served as the church handyman. He was also a member of the Fayette Trout Club, the Fayette Sportsman’s Club, and the Camp Coble Hunting Camp.
In earlier life, William worked as a carpenter for Tex Wert, H.P. Alexander and until his retirement in 1998, he was employed by Reed Associates, of Harleysville. He also farmed for many years.
In addition to his love of hunting and fishing, Bill helped to fund many mission projects and took great joy in spending time with his grandchildren. With his gift of carpentry he helped many people without expecting anything in return.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2016 from the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville, with Pastor Wesley Stahl officiating. Interment will follow in the Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.
There will be no viewing; however a visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service, on Monday at the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
