Obituary for Misty A. Hoover

Misty Angel McCauley Hoover, 37 passed on from this earth to be with the Lord, October 14, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. Misty was born in Ridgeway PA on August 25, 1979. Her loving mother, Nanci McCauley raised her through childhood and taught her compassion. Misty’s passion for nature and art sprouted from her dear mother’s love.
Misty attended Beech Creek Elementary School and graduated in 1997 from Bald Eagle Nittany High School in Mill Hall PA. Her young life was full with dance, majorettes, tennis, and French club. She was very active in Girl Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Police Explorers (Troop 30). Misty developed her art talent especially the fabric arts during these years.
Misty graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in art education in 2006. She student taught in Pittsburgh PA, before she began her teaching career for Juniata County School District. Mist then completed a Masters in Art from Wilkes University. She is known as Mrs. Hoover to hundreds of students in the five elementary schools where she has taught creatively for nine years. She will be fondly remembered as a wonderful and talented art teacher by the entire Juniata County community.
Misty married her soulmate, Brant Hoover in 2010. They have two beautiful children, Sage Helena and Aspen Grace. Misty and her family enjoyed many adventures together such as camping, music festivals, kayaking, art projects, museums, ice hockey games, traveling to visit many close friends and family. Misty enjoyed nature walks, pottery, sewing, soccer and spending time with her friends.
In addition to her husband and children, Misty is survived by mother, Nanci McCauley, Danville PA, parents in law Cindee and Ron Hoover Warriors Mark, PA, brothers Wesley McCauley of Bellefonte, PA and Darren McCauley of State College PA. Sisters Kim McCauley and Cherie Keener of Muncy, PA. Sister Krissy McCauley McLellan and her husband Alex McLellan of Danville, PA. Brother in Law Eric Hoover and his wife Rayne of Lawrenceville, GA. Sister in law Kelli Rivera and husband Jarol of Tyrone, PA. Nieces and nephews, Shannyn McCauley, Elizabeth McCauley Bangson, Declan McLellan, Tristan McLellan, Alex McLellan, Adelyn Hoover, Ava Hoover, Trenton Rivera and Quinn Rivera. Uncle Von Hoover, Canoe Creek, PA and many other extended family members. Misty is also survived by many close friends too numerous to name.
Misty is preceded in death by her Grandparents Lyle (Pop) Crawford and Grammy Helen, of Hawthorn, PA.
Friends may call on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 4 – 9 pm at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
Celebration of Misty’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from the St. Stephens Lutheran Church, 8489 Licking Creek Road, Mifflintown, PA with Rev. Chris Mathiason officiating.
