Marian L. Whistler, 74, of Mifflintown, died at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born on September 28, 1942 in Derry Township, Mifflin County she was a daughter of the late Harry T. and Ruth (Whitesel) Sheaffer. On December 24, 1961 she married her surviving husband, Kenneth R. Whistler with whom she was blessed to have been married exactly 55 years.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a sister, Catherine Phillips, of Lewistown, a brother, Harold Sheaffer, of Kutztown and many nieces and nephews.
Five brothers, George Sheaffer, James Sheaffer, Harry Sheaffer, Samuel Sheaffer Whitesel and Glenn Sheaffer, preceded her in death.
She was employed for 30 plus years in local area sewing factories.
Marian enjoyed camping in Potter County, collecting cookbooks and stuffed toys and attending yard sales.
There will be no viewing and all services will be private. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
