Obituary for Joseph E. "Joe" Leach III

Joseph E. “Joe” Leach, III, 63, of Mifflintown (Licking Creek), died on Monday, January 30, 2017 in Milford Township, Juniata County.
Born on June 22, 1953 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Joseph E. Sr. and Esther T. (Telfer) Leach. On May 12, 1973, he married the love of his life, Norma F. (Kirk) Leach, with whom he was blessed to share more than 43 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Kristi Burdge and her husband Michael, of East Waterford, a son, Brian Leach and his wife Heather, of Thompsontown, a sister, Jan L. Manbeck and her husband Steven, of Mifflintown and he leaves behind three precious grandchildren, Jeffery Burdge, Allison Burdge and Lilly Leach.
Mr. Leach was a 1971 graduate of Juniata High School, a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, Juniata County Trout Club and the Juniata County Sportsman Association.
He currently was employed by John E. Groninger, Inc., Mexico.
Joe had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and cutting fire wood. However his greatest enjoyment came from the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Pastor Nancy McClure officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Stephens Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
