Mary L. Hutchinson, 88, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin and formerly of Reeds Gap, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Village.
Born on July 27, 19 in Tuscarora Twp., Juniata County she was a daughter of the late Edgar S. and Mildred S. (Pannebaker) Hutchinson.
Surviving are her siblings, Mabel Stimely, of Lewistown, Donald Hutchinson, of Reeds Gap, Jeannie Jones, of Mifflin; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
Seven brothers, James Hutchinson, Paul Hutchinson, John Hutchinson, Max Hutchinson, Glenn Hutchinson, Larry Hutchinson and Robert Hutchinson preceded her in death.
She was a 1947 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and had attended the McCoysville Presbyterian Church.
Mary’s pride and joy was her family farm, the Lazy H, and it’s dairy herd, which she operated until her retirement at the age 80.
Her home was always open to her nieces and nephews, being a mother to many; however, she was a second mother to Tarz, Gary and Terry Hutchinson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Judy D. Rowles and Rev. Graham C. Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nook.
A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. on Saturday, until the time of service at the funeral home.
