Ethel V. Bashore, 94, of Mifflintown, passed away at 5:29 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Bridges of Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on April 1, 1924 in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata Co., she was a daughter of the late William Blaine and Carrie Mae (Varner) Walters. In February 1944, she married Michael R. Bashore with whom she was blessed to share more than 23 years of marriage before his passing on November 20, 1967.
Ethel is survived by three daughters, Kathy L. Bashore of Harrisburg, Sheila I. Kuhns of Danville, and Pat A. Earnest and her husband Gary of Port Royal; siblings, Norma Parker, Clyde Walters, Loma Saner and her husband Donald, Larry Walters, all of Mifflintown, and Clifford Walters and his wife Joanne of Reedsville; four grandsons, Michael Bashore, Doug Kuhns and his wife Angela, Phillip Kuhns, and Nathan Earnest and his wife Kristen; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
She was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown.
Mrs. Bashore was Methodist by faith, who loved her Lord.
Earlier in life, Ethel was employed at Empire Kosher Poultry in Mifflintown, but spent most of her life as a Homemaker.
She loved all kinds of flowers, was an avid reader, especially reading her bible every day, enjoyed all kinds of music, loved jig saw and word search puzzles, and was an animal lover, especially to her two beloved dogs, Lady and Muffy.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge Street, Mifflintown with Pastor Jennifer Heikes officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Services on Wednesday from the funeral home.
