Obituary for Leon D. Yoder

Leon D. Yoder, 86, of McAlisterville, passed away on June 30, 2017 surrounded by his loving and caring family.
Leon was born February 16, 1931 in Belleville, the son of the late Jonas R. Yoder and Elizabeth (Sommers) Yoder. He attended school in Belleville and went on to pursue his passions of farming and automotives. Leon retired from Watson Buick in Mifflinburg PA. His retirement was spent tending to his gardens, enjoying time with his beloved cat Tina, laughing with family and friends, and worshiping the Lord.
He is survived by his five children Kenneth and Cindy Yoder, of Mifflinburg, Dale and Karen Yoder, of McAlisterville, Steven and Barbara Yoder, of Mifflintown, Kathy (Hackenberg) and Corey Knepp, of Middleburg and Darlene and Duane Gemberling, of Mifflinburg; daughter-in-law Connie Yoder, of Milton; seven grandchildren, Chad and Tess Yoder, Jessica and Dennis Vasbinder, Michael and Lydia Hackenberg, Ashley Gemberling, Alicia and Aaron Martin, Austin Gemberling, Evan Yoder; three step grandchildren Jason Snyder, Melanie and Joshua Jones, Don and Jessica Good; ten great grandchildren, Kristen Yoder, Chloe Yoder, Kylie Vasbinder, Mackenzie Vasbinder, Brayden Vasbinder, Tanner Vasbinder, Paisley Vasbinder, Jordan Good, Benjamin Good, Lucas Kershaw; and sister Grace Womer of Mifflinburg.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Elizabeth I Yoder, his son Robert Yoder, son-in-law Lynn Hackenberg, and several siblings.
Family and friends are invited to attend Leon’s funeral service on Wednesday July 5, 2017, at 11 am, from the Delaware Mennonite Church, 16 Delaware Church Rd, Thompsontown, Pa 17094. The family will be present to receive friends at 10 am, Wednesday July 5, 2017, prior to the service. Leon will be laid to rest next to his wife Elizabeth in the church cemetery immediately following the services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville.
