Obituary for Harry J. Williamson

Harry J. Williamson, 77, of Honey Grove, went home to be with Jesus at 9:45 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

Born on June 14, 1944, in McCabe, Lack Twp., Juniata County, he is the son of Erma M. (Gibbons) Williamson, of Waterloo and the late Wilmer J. “Willie” Williamson. On August 27, 1965, he married his surviving wife, Audrey L. (Kinser) Williamson, with whom he was blessed to share more than 56 years of marriage before his passing.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by his three children: Randy J. Williamson and his wife Renee, of Honey Grove, Lori A. Shelley and her husband Adam, of Spruce Hill, Jenny M. Strawser and her husband Rod, of Richfield; two sisters, Mary Jane Williamson, Connie S. Snyder and her husband Robert, all of Waterloo and he leaves behind eight grandchildren, Kara N. Williamson-Yackey, Dakota J. Williamson, Lynn Geedey, Derek Paige, Bruce Garner, Mekenzie Sprenkle, Breana Dysinger and Cooper Strawser, also 7 great-grandchildren, Evan and Sarah Yackey, Asher and Emmett Williamson, Weston and Adalee Geedey and Octavia Sprenkle.

Mr. Williamson proudly served his country with the U.S. Army Reserves for 10 years during the Vietnam War.

He retired in 1999, as a tank mechanic, after 35 years of service at the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. Currently he was employed as a courier for the Pennian Bank.

Harry had a deep fondness for 4-H and served as a beef club leader for over 40 years in Juniata County. He also faithfully solicited for funds to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Danville for over twenty years. He also found great joy tending to his small herd of beef cattle. His greatest love was for his wife, children,[KB1] grandchildren, great grandchildren, parents, siblings, and friends.

Funeral services will be private from the Faith & Fire Church, 308 Market St., Port Royal, with Pastor Darin Rex officiating. Interment will follow in the East Waterford Cemetery, East Waterford where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors.

There will be no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Williamson’s memory to Juniata County 4H, Court House Annex, P.O. Box 147, Mifflintown, PA 17059 or to the Ronald McDonald House of Danville, P.O. Box 300, Danville, PA 17821
