Obituary for Minnie C. Minick

Minnie C. Minick, 91, of Mifflin, passed away at 9:07 P.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at her residence surrounded by friends.

Born on September 21, 1930, in Spruce Hill Twp., Juniata Co., she was the daughter of the late John F. and Eleanor E. (Okeson) Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Minick, Jr. on February 24, 1997; one son, William J. Minick III on September 11, 2001; one sister Virginia C. Dorwart; and a brother John. H. Clark. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Marjorie Clark, of Lewistown, two nieces, one nephew, several great nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Mrs. Minick began her career working for Gordons Department Store. Next, she was the owner of Minick’s Distributor; was employed by her son’s restaurant, Bill’s Café; and finally was employed and retired from the Family House Restaurant, all of Mifflintown.

Minnie was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Crawford-Brubaker Post #5863, both of Mifflintown.

Her hobbies included watching sports, especially women’s college basketball, doing puzzle books, reading the Daily Guide Post, and going out to eat with friends. Her friends and neighbors often gathered on her porch on warm evenings. She enjoyed her time with the “Gordon Girls” and her many friends.

There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown with Vicar Samuel J. Leister officiating. Please bring a chair if you will need one.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Minick’s memory can be made to the Mifflintown Hose Company #1, 510 Washington Avenue., Mifflintown, PA, 17059.
