Obituary for Allen Louis Sallee

Allen Louis Sallee, 85, of Mifflintown, passed away at 1:54 PM on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 11, 1937 in New Waverly, TX, he was a son of the late John V. and Etta (Wilson) Sallee. On June 27, 1959, he married his surviving wife, Phyllis A. (Zimmerman) Sallee with whom he was blessed to share over 63 years of marriage before his passing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Kathy J. Fry, Susan M. Taylor and her husband Mike, and Barbara L. Brown and her husband Jeff, all of Mifflintown; six grandchildren, Annie and her husband Greg, Jamie and her husband Bryan, Shellie and her husband Tim, Hope and her husband Matt, Bentley, and Lilly; six great grandchildren, Gianna, Alaria, Landon, Cecelia, Reed, and Skyla; one step great grandson, Peyton; two sisters, Elizabeth Griffin and Mr. Sallee’s twin sister, Ellen Louise Karbowski and her husband Bill, all of Splendora, TX; and many generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Emily; and seven siblings, Oliver, George, Hardy, Bernadine, Albert “Sonny”, Roland, and John Ernest “Houger.”

Mr. Sallee was a 1956 graduate of Splendora High School in Splendor, TX and honorably served our country in the US Navy from 1956 to 1960.

Louis was employed and retired as an Electrician.

His memberships included the Lighthouse Community Church in Mifflintown where he served as an Elder, and a lifetime member of the Juniata County Sportsmen’s Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yardwork, being outdoors, riding his tractor, and watching sports.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Lighthouse Community Church, 1578 Cedar Springs Road, Mifflintown with the Rev. Jeffrey Henry officiating. Following the funeral services, full military burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veteran’s Council at the church. Interment will be private at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the funeral services at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Sallee’s memory may be made to Lighthouse Community Church, 1578 Cedar Springs Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
