Obituary for Robert G. Berry

Robert G. Berry, 91, of Honey Grove, passed away at 8:13 AM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village in Mifflin.
Born on July 20, 1931 in Honey Grove, Juniata County, he is a son of the late George Berry and Ethel (Glick) Berry Woodward.
On June 10, 1953, he married his late wife, Ethel L. (Henry) Berry, with whom he was blessed to share over 69 years of marriage before her passing on December 28, 2022.
He is survived by his children, Ken Berry and his companion Teresa Milliken of Honey Grove, Robin Swartz and her husband Andrew of McAlisterville, and Karen Ford of Lewistown; three sisters, Mary Romig and her husband Weldon of Mifflintown, Lois Bates of Lititz, and Ruth Erb and her husband Charles of Beaver Springs; two grandchildren, Danny Berry and Dr. Turner Swartz; one step granddaughter, Hillari Ayers and her husband Ed; two great grandchildren, Braxton Bender and Braylynn Berry; three step great-grandchildren, Luke Bastian, Nathan Bastian, and Sam Ayers; and many generations of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jessica Ford; one sister, Mae Fullington; and his step father, Rex Woodward.
Mr. Berry was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School in Mifflintown and had honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Robert began his employment with Ridge Creek Gas in Honey Grove and after that, was employed and retired with over 33 years of employment as a Welder for Penn Dot in Mifflintown.
Along with his wife, he was a member and had attended the former McCoysville Presbyterian Church.
His hobbies included gardening, canning, riding four-wheeler, deer hunting, rabbit hunting, and was well known for working out of his shop.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 24, 2023 from the South Juniata Baptist Church, 3647 Smokey Hollow Road, Honey Grove with Pastor Caleb Burd officiating. Interment will follow at the McCulloch’s Mills Cemetery, Honey Grove.
A public viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Berry’s memory can be made to South Juniata Baptist Church, 3647 Smokey Hollow Road, Honey Grove, PA 17035.
