OBITUARY NOTICE
WILMA J. HAINES

McALISTERVILLE, Wilma J. Haines, 87, of McAlisterville, died at 10:55 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Richfield Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on March 16, 1927, in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Ray T. and Bertha (Speece) Van Horn. On May 11, 1944 she married her late husband, Harold M. “Jiggs” Haines, with whom she spent more than 59 years of marriage, before he preceded her in death on September 2, 2003.
Surviving are her children, Judy E. Watts and her husband Bill, of McAlisterville, Gary L. Haines and his wife Jennifer, of Duncannon, four grandchildren, Brian Watts and his wife Diane, Lori Knopp, Andy Haines and his wife Billie, Tim Haines and his wife Monica, and she leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, Cody, Evan, Ty, Trent, Mitchell, Gracen and Gavin.
Three brothers, Harold R. Van Horn, Sharon N. Van Horn, Paul L. Van Horn and three sisters, Jesse Moyer, Almeda Barth, and Grace Ehrisman preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church, McAlisterville.
For many years, Mrs. Haines, was a seamstress for several local garment factories and later worked at W.E. Schlegel, Inc. East Salem.
Wilma enjoyed doing craft work, going to flea markets and she was a collector of many things; however, her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, held the most important place in her heart.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church with Pastor Michael Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the East Salem Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, at the church.
The family will provide all funeral flowers. For those that desire, memorial donations in Mrs. Haines’ memory may be sent to the, Angels of Mercy, c/o Good News Lutheran Brethren Church, 32868 Route 35 North, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
The Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
