MIFFLINTOWN, Beatrice L. “Bebe” Reed, 88, formerly of Licking Creek Valley, died at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on February 10, 1926 in Beale Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late J. Dewey and Katherine B. (McClure) McWilliams. On October 7, 1950 she married her late husband, Clarence B. “Tiny” Reed, with whom she shared more than 55 years of marriage, until he preceded her in death on December 18, 2005.
Surviving are her sons, Stephen C. Reed and his wife Leigh Ann, of Hollidaysburg, Keith M. Reed, Mark E. Reed and his wife Jodi, all of Mifflintown, siblings, J. Ed McWilliams and his wife Jo Ann, of Mifflintown, Caryl L. Groninger and her husband John, of Mexico, Pauline B. Campbell and her husband Donald, of Etters, and she leaves behind three grandchildren, Carrie Packer, of Bellefonte, Jared Reed, of Pittsburgh and Lilli Reed, of Mifflintown also three great-grandchildren.
One sister, K. Roberta Robinson, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Reed was a 1944 graduate of the Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown and was a member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Licking Creek Valley.
Beatrice was a homemaker most of her married life, who also worked as a secretary for Juniata Disposal, Mifflintown.
“Bebe” enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee, boating and traveling; however, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she always wanted to talk about soccer.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. Christopher Mathiason officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Stephens Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.
Viewing will be held from 7 - 9 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the funeral home.
