OBITUARY NOTICE
GEORGE R. FEALTMAN
George R. Fealtman, 88, of the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown and formerly of Thompsontown, died at 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Brookline.
Born on February 19, 1927, in Newport, Perry County, he was a son of the late Harvey and Marie A. (Hoffman) Fealtman. On July 10, 1948 he married his late wife, Alice L. (Landis) Fealtman, with whom he was blessed to share more than 67 years of marriage.
Surviving are his sisters-in-law, Esther Hart, of McAlisterville, Barbara Shelley and her husband Robert, of Thompsontown, Miriam Beasom and her husband Gerald, of Mexico and 21 nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his generation having been preceded in death by brothers, Earl Fealtman, Donald Fealtman, an infant brother, Arthur Fealtman, and a sister Carrie J. Baker.
He was a 1944 graduate of Newport High School and a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, East Salem. He was also a past member of the Order of the Oddfellows, a member and past Master of the Union Lodge F&AM #324, of Mifflintown, a past High Priest of the Lewistown Chapter #186, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Juniata Forrest #88, Harrisburg Consistory A.A.S.R, Zembo Shine, a past Sovereign of the Penn Priory #6 and P.T.I.M of the Juniata Valley Council #64.
Mr. Fealtman was employed as a computer technician by the Federal Government and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during World War II.
George loved photography and personal computers.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Rev. Joseph Yorks officiating. Interment will follow in the East Salem Cemetery where the Juniata County Veterans Council will accord full military burial honors. A Masonic service will be accorded by his lodge prior to the funeral.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service, on Friday at the funeral home.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and kindly ask that memorial donations may be made in Mr. Fealtman’s memory to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 7398 Rte. 235, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
