Esther A. Billow, 90, of McAlisterville, died at 1:40 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Bridges at Brookline, Mifflintown.
Born on August 16, 1925 in McAlisterville, she is a daughter of the late Cloyd Richard and Margaret L. (Smith) Colyer.
Her first husband, R. Eugene Stuck, whom she married on November 13, 1946 preceded her in death on March 10, 1989. Her second husband, Rev. Harry R. Billow, whom she married on June 29, 1991 preceded her in death on September 1, 2015.
Esther was employed and retired as a seamstress at L. Shellenberger and Sons Shirt Factory in McAlisterville and East Salem for over 49 years.
She was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in McAlisterville. Most of all, Esther enjoyed and cherished the time spent with her family.
Esther is survived by her daughter, Dixie S. Buckley and her husband Herb of Pennsboro, WV, four grandsons, Gary Mathers, Herbert Buckley Jr., Jesse E. Buckley, and Cloyd Buckley, three brothers, George A. Colyer, Cloyd Colyer Jr. and his wife Betty, all of McAlisterville, and Roy Colyer and his wife Nancy of Licking Creek, seven great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Marie Buckley, Emily A. Buckley, Erica Sarner, Jacob Buckley, Amanda Garland, Ethan Mathers, and four great-great-grandchildren, Gage Garland, Novah Garland, Alexis Garland, and Cameron Sarner.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Dressler, Anna Mae Weiand, Ruth Colyer, Althea Baughman Meiser, Mildred Dunn, William Colyer, Albert Colyer, and Norman Colyer.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Rev. Erin Bovendam officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
A viewing will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral services on Sunday at the funeral home.
